In Friday’s wild ride of Beyond the Gates, Dani takes “bad decisions” to new heights, Derek’s got serious trust issues, and Kat leaves Tomás absolutely speechless. Let’s break it all down in this BTG recap, where the drama never sleeps—especially when someone’s passed out on their ex’s couch.

Dani’s Package of Chaos – What Could Possibly Go Wrong?
Dani insists her latest scheme has nothing—absolutely nothing—to do with The Shamiltons (a.k.a. Bill and Hayley), and she’s totally over them. Oh, sure, girl. We believe you. And yet, somehow, she still finds herself lurking outside their house with a package in hand, assuring security that it’s not a bomb. Because, you know, that’s a totally normal thing people have to clarify.
“All I want is a fresh start,” she claims, before adding ominously that she’s about to give them something they’ll never forget. Well, that part is at least accurate. Against every fiber of common sense, security guard George decides to trust Dani (why?), hands over the code to Bill and Hayley’s house, and—voilà!—Dani is officially trespassing.
Meanwhile, Bill and Hayley are on their way home, cutting their honeymoon short. There’s no way this is ending without an explosion—metaphorically speaking. Or is it?
A Bottle of Wine, a Broken Frame, and One Unconscious Ex
What does a rational, mature person do when breaking into their ex’s house? If you answered “curl up with a bottle of wine meant for a future anniversary that never happened,” congratulations, you understand Dani’s logic.
Sitting in the middle of their living room, she opens the bottle Bill gave her when they were married (yikes), then takes things a step further by smashing a framed photo of the happy couple. After a few sips too many, she decides to just—take a nap? Right there? On their couch?
This is when George finally decides maybe he should tell someone what he’s done, casually stopping by Dupree Manor to inform Vernon and Anita that Dani has lost what remained of her self-restraint. So now, the race is on: Will the Shamiltons walk into the wreckage first, or will Vernon and Anita get there in time to drag Dani out?
Honestly, we kind of hope Bill and Hayley show up first. Their reactions are bound to be priceless.
Derek’s Side-Eye Game Is Strong—And Andre Knows It
Over at the hospital, Derek is still recovering from his heroic antics (and, oh yeah, a concussion), but that doesn’t stop Andre from inserting himself into the situation. He waltzes in, snapping pictures of the injured firefighter like he’s the star of a photoshoot.
When Ashley—Derek’s girlfriend and the unknowing center of this love triangle—comments on how nice Andre is being, Derek can’t help but throw some shade. But, being the king of passive-aggressiveness, he then plays the amnesia card when Ashley asks him to elaborate. “Whoops, guess I don’t remember saying that,” he shrugs. Classic.
To add even more chaos to Derek’s already scrambled brain, a little old lady appears to thank him for saving her cat. She can’t believe he ran into a burning building knowing the ceiling was about to collapse, and neither can Ashley. Turns out, Derek isn’t normally that reckless—so what exactly was driving him?
Well, considering he keeps dreaming about Andre swooping in and stealing both Ashley and the cat, we might have our answer.
Kat and Tomás Heat Things Up—Until She Drops a Bomb
Meanwhile, Kat and Tomás’ date is off to a fiery start. She doesn’t hold back when grilling him about what it’s like working for Bill (spoiler: she’s not a fan), and he doesn’t hold back when making it very clear that he’s interested in her.
Tomás tries to convince her that Bill isn’t the villain she thinks he is, even revealing that Bill actually gave him the green light to pursue Kat. But is she buying it? Not even a little.
Despite their differences—and the fact that Kat absolutely did not cook the dinner she claimed to have made—their date is going suspiciously well. Tomás even goes bold and asks about her bed (smooth), prompting Kat to drop a confession that leaves him utterly speechless: she’s a virgin.
Tomás, for once, is not the one in control of the conversation. And honestly? We’re living for it.
This BTG recap only scratches the surface of the chaos, and we’re already counting down to the next episode. Stay tuned—because if there’s one thing Beyond the Gates never does, it’s keep things predictable.
