Days of Our Lives Full Episode Recap | Theresa’s Exit, Joy’s Shady Goodbye & Xander’s Big Mouth - Wednesday, March 19, 2025 [SPOILERS]

In today’s Days of Our Lives (DOOL) full episode recap, secrets are simmering, relationships are crumbling, and yet another Salemite is making a dramatic exit. Theresa packs her bags (again), Joy bolts out of town with a secret of her own, and Xander just can’t resist sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong. Let’s dive into the mess, shall we?

Theresa receives bad news | Peacock

Horton Square: Xander the Eavesdropper
Xander eavesdrops on Philip & Stephanie | DOOL

Salem’s favorite bad boy with a heart of gold (or maybe just a heart of pure mischief) was lurking in Horton Square, minding other people’s business as usual. Stephanie was busy swearing loyalty to Philip, promising to keep their secret from Alex. Because in Salem, secrets are currency, and Stephanie is apparently making some serious bank.

Cue Xander, who overheard just enough to be dangerous but not enough to actually understand what’s going on—classic. When Philip accused him of spying, Xander played it cool, offering his "best wishes" to Alex and Stephanie. Translation: I know you’re up to something, and I’ll be watching.

Stephanie and Philip, meanwhile, were left to wonder exactly how much of their scheming Xander picked up on. The answer? Probably enough to cause chaos, because this is Days and that’s just how things go.

University Hospital: Maggie vs. Vivian, Round 372

Over at the hospital, Maggie showed up for a volunteer shift (because apparently, meddling in Titan’s affairs isn’t a full-time job). But before getting to work, she needed to vent about her run-in with Vivian, who was busy spinning a fantasy about bonding with Philip.

Maggie wasn’t buying it for a second, and honestly, neither are we. She questioned why Vivian was suddenly acting like Mother of the Year, and Sarah quickly shut down the conversation, labeling Vivian’s "relationship" with Philip as pure fiction. That woman is nothing if not persistent, though, and we all know she isn’t giving up her Titan dreams that easily.

Enter Xander, who had his own steaming cup of drama to spill. He filled Sarah in on what he overheard from Stephanie and Philip, and in true Xander fashion, immediately jumped to the worst (and most entertaining) conclusion possible: Philip and Stephanie are having an affair. Oh, Xander. Never change.

Titan: Joy Drops a Bomb and Bounces

At Titan, Joy caught Alex before he could make a grand exit and confessed that she wasn’t totally honest last time they talked. Alex, ever the optimist, assumed she was about to profess her undying love for him. Wrong. Instead, Joy announced that she was quitting her job and leaving town.

Alex tried to convince her to stay, but Joy had her mind made up—she was New York-bound, and nothing was stopping her. Well, except for the real reason she was skipping town: a positive pregnancy test burning a hole in her purse. Oops.

Meanwhile, Philip was caught off guard by the news of Joy’s departure and made one last request: send his best to Chloe. Because if there’s one thing Philip isn’t good at, it’s letting go of past relationships.

Marlena and John’s Penthouse: Tate’s Teenage Drama

While Brady was busy reading up on Estonia (as one does), his shirtless son, Tate, strolled in and got straight to the point: How exactly are we supposed to find John in an entire country? Solid question, kid. Brady assured him that Marlena and Steve had a plan, but honestly? We’re skeptical.

But let’s talk about what really matters—Tate’s love life. Turns out, things with Holly are not going well, so he spent the night with Sophia instead. (Calm down, nothing scandalous happened—this is still daytime TV, after all.) Sophia, however, got a call from Mama Choi about Paulina’s sudden change of heart regarding Chanel and Johnny adopting a baby. Because, sure, let’s throw another life-altering decision into the mix.

Brady, being the supportive dad he is, reassured Tate that adoption wouldn’t ruin a kid’s life, despite Theresa’s dramatic hand-wringing about Aunt Eve’s troubled past. Still, Tate worried whether his grandfather would be disappointed in him. Brady, ever the optimist, insisted that John would be proud. Let’s just hope they find him first.

Washington D.C. – ISA HQ: Theresa’s Bad News

Meanwhile, over in D.C., Shane Donovan dropped some devastating news: Kimberly’s cancer is back. Theresa, already an emotional rollercoaster, took it hard—because let’s be honest, dealing with sick parents and a son caught up in a baby adoption drama is a lot, even for a DOOL vet.

She rushed back to Salem and, in true Theresa fashion, assumed Brady would think she was just upset over Tate’s situation. But nope—this was much bigger. As soon as she told Brady and Tate about Kimberly’s leukemia returning, the Donovan family broke down in tears. Shane, ever the doting father, asked Theresa to fly out to California, and she agreed.

Last-Minute Salem Shenanigans

As Theresa prepared to leave, she and Tate shared a sweet goodbye moment, proving that sometimes Salem’s residents actually prioritize family over drama (but only sometimes).

Meanwhile, Stephanie and Alex had an awkward run-in, and Alex filled her in on his chat with Theresa and his awkward encounter with Joy. And let’s not forget Joy—who, after speed-packing her life into a suitcase, made one last phone call to Nancy before leaving town with her pregnancy test in hand. Yikes.

Finally, Philip made a call to Kate, revealing that Stephanie promised not to spill the beans to Alex about Victor’s letter. Kate freaked out when she heard that Xander had been lurking, but Philip reassured her that his big-mouthed brother hadn’t figured it out—yet.

Oh, but give him time. This is Days of Our Lives, after all.
