Sonny collapses, Ava gloats & Kristina comes to the rescue | GH, ABC

Laura’s Not Here for Political Games, But Ezra Certainly Is

Councilman Ezra Boyle is all about flexing his power and making Laura’s life miserable. He waltzes in, all smug and entitled, demanding to know why the esplanade project isn’t done yet. Laura, ever the picture of patience (for now), explains that it’s an environmental issue. But Ezra, who clearly has never met an obstacle he couldn’t bulldoze, has a “brilliant” solution—move it to Pier 55. Easy, right? Wrong. Because that land belongs to Sonny Corinthos, and unless Ezra has a death wish, he’s not getting his hands on it anytime soon.

When Laura refuses to push Sonny to sell, Ezra goes full shady politician and insinuates she’ll have to answer for her association with him. Oh, please. As if Port Charles hasn’t been turning a blind eye to Sonny’s dealings for decades. Once Laura leaves, Jordan reminds Ezra that he should think twice before coming for Laura. But will he listen? Probably not.

Sonny’s Down for the Count, and Ava’s Loving Every Second

Meanwhile, Ava is living for the drama of Sonny’s unfortunate health situation. The man is literally clutching his chest while struggling to stay upright, and she’s out here throwing smug remarks like confetti. We live for the drama! Enter Kristina, who is NOT having it. She promptly kicks Ava out and gets Sonny his medication like the responsible daughter she is. She wants to call an ambulance, but Sonny, ever the stubborn mob boss, insists she call Isaiah instead.

Isaiah shows up, does his doctor thing, and suggests Sonny move up his surgery. Predictably, Sonny refuses because, in his mind, staying alive takes a backseat to handling his so-called security issue. Priorities, right? After Isaiah leaves, Laura arrives and demands to know what’s going on. Sonny finally spills—his heart isn’t just metaphorically broken, it’s literally failing, and he needs surgery.

Laura, being the only adult in the room, points out that maybe, just maybe, putting off a life-saving procedure isn’t the best idea. But Sonny, always the martyr, insists he has things to handle first. Naturally, he hasn’t told his family because “it’s for their own good.” Ah yes, because the best way to handle a medical crisis is to keep your loved ones in the dark. Classic Sonny.

Tracy, Curtis, and the Art of Public Humiliation

Over at Aurora, Tracy is basking in the glory of making Drew look bad. She and Curtis are practically high-fiving over how the media coverage of the pediatric sports initiative made Drew seem irrelevant. Because apparently, Curtis referring to him as “Cain” instead of “Drew” was the burn of the century. Drew crashes the party, furious that his name is being dragged, and Curtis shuts him down real quick. Newsflash, Drew—this isn’t about you, it’s about the kids.

Meanwhile, Brook Lynn is busy trying to do damage control with Lulu. She basically tells her, “Well, if you hadn’t been snooping in Martin’s room, you wouldn’t be in this mess.” Lulu isn’t buying it. She’s ready to come clean to Dante, and Brook Lynn isn’t here for it. But before they can throw down, Gio and Emma arrive with their grand plan for a land deal, which Ned already rejected. Brook Lynn likes their enthusiasm but warns them not to get involved in Tracy and Drew’s feud. Of course, she also volunteers to talk to Ned, because when does Brook Lynn ever mind her business?

Lulu’s Meltdown and Cody’s Words of “Wisdom”

Lulu, still fuming over the Brook Lynn and Dante situation, takes her frustrations out at the boathouse. Enter Cody, who serves up a reality check. Dante chose her, so what’s the problem? Oh, just the minor issue that Dante LIED every single time he denied feelings for Brook Lynn. Oops.

Ava Drops a Bomb on Ric

Ava takes her messy ways straight to Ric, gleefully spilling that something is seriously wrong with Sonny. She recounts how their argument led to him collapsing, complete with his pill bottle dropping at her feet. Does she sound concerned? Not in the slightest. In fact, she makes it painfully clear that she wouldn’t be shedding a single tear if Sonny kicked the bucket. Yikes.

Jordan’s Warning and Drew’s Latest Temper Tantrum

Jordan swings by to thank Curtis for making it look like the pediatric initiative was all her and Portia’s doing—not Drew’s. Curtis, still riding his anti-Drew wave, says he was happy to deny the guy the publicity he craves. But Jordan, ever the cautious one, warns Curtis that making an enemy out of Drew isn’t the smartest move.

Meanwhile, Drew is in full tantrum mode with Ezra, ranting about how Tracy is always undermining him. He’s also got another obsession—tearing down the Quartermaine crypt. Ezra, trying to stay out of family drama, tells Drew this is HIS battle. But Drew, ever the stickler for justice (when it suits him), insists that the Quartermaines aren’t above the law.

Kristina’s Rage Against Ava

Kristina, still fuming over Ava’s attempt to sabotage Sonny, visits the baby’s grave to vent. In her eyes, Ava is a menace who never faces consequences, and she’s had enough. The way she sees it, someone has to stop Ava, and that someone might just be her.

If you missed this episode of General Hospital, consider yourself caught up—but let’s be real, this tea was too good to skip. See you tomorrow at SoapOperaReviews.com for another GH recap, because you know Port Charles never sleeps when it comes to drama.
