Days of Our Lives Full Episode Recap | Sami's Hears Belle's 'I love You' to EJ - Wednesday, April 9, 2025 [SPOILERS]

On Wednesday's Days of Our Lives, it’s a deliciously chaotic cocktail of power plays, gun drama, and unsolicited confessions of love. EJ’s in a coma (or is he?), Kristen’s under the microscope, and Xander and Philip are scheming their way into DiMera. Oh, and Belle? She just dropped the L-word at the worst possible moment and Sami hears it loud and clear. Here's your full episode recap — sass included.

Sami 'overhears' Belle | DOOL, Peacock

The Power Grab No One Saw Coming — Except Literally Everyone

Let’s start with the shady business dealings, shall we? Because over at the Kiriakis mansion, Xander and Philip are basically rubbing their hands together like cartoon villains. They’ve sniffed out an opportunity the second EJ’s bullet-riddled body hit that hospital bed. Xander pitches their scheme to Mr. Shin like it’s Shark Tank: EJ’s in a coma, the board’s in chaos, and if Shin just plays along, they can yeet Kristen out of the CEO seat and snatch DiMera from under her perfectly manicured fingertips.

Philip & Xander | DOOL

Xander even comes with props — an article from The Spectator spelling out EJ’s grim condition. His doctor wife says it’s bleak, and if you can’t trust a daytime soap doctor with a pulse and a stethoscope, who can you trust?

But Shin, ever the stickler, reminds them that Kristen still holds the majority of voting stock. And while that’s a buzzkill, it’s not a dealbreaker. Not when Kristen is about to have her hands cuffed — figuratively and maybe literally.

Kristen DiMera and the Case of the Unwanted Family Heirloom

Meanwhile, over at the DiMera mansion, Kristen’s living her best “I don’t answer questions without a lawyer” life. JJ and Shawn have a warrant, and they’re not here to play. They dig through her designer handbag like it’s the clearance bin at a department store and — ta-da — find a gun. A very suspicious gun.

JJ, Shawn & Kristen | DOOL

Kristen acts like she’s just been asked to pay retail — scandalized and silent. Shawn escorts her down to the station, where she finally starts talking — kind of. The gun, she explains to Melinda Trask, isn’t even hers. It’s her mother’s. Apparently, it’s a sentimental little death machine she confiscated but just didn’t get around to tossing. You know, like that sweater in the back of your closet you keep saying you’ll donate.

Kristen is taken to the police station for questioning | DOOL

Kristen’s cool as ice, even while Trask hisses that this looks really, really bad. Kristen’s more worried about DiMera stock than a possible murder charge. Priorities, baby. She doesn’t confirm or deny anything, because if Kristen’s good at one thing, it’s being slippery.

Belle’s Bedside Breakdown — Featuring an Audience

Across town at the hospital, Belle’s posted up next to comatose EJ like she’s in a Nicholas Sparks movie. She’s stroking his hand, crying, giving full Shakespeare-in-the-ICU energy. Then, plot twist: EJ wakes up. Or does he?

He starts talking, but it’s clear he’s doing it inside Belle’s head. Our girl is hallucinating and dragging herself with her own guilt. EJ calls her out for pretending to care after she tried to wire him up like a mob informant. She breaks — finally — and screams out a classic soap confession: “Yes, dammit, I love you!”

Belle to EJ: "I love you."

Sami: "Isn't that sweet."

Cue the dramatic gasp, because who just walked in at that exact moment? Sami. Of course it’s Sami. Her timing is always messier than a DiMera family brunch. She greets Belle’s confession with the kind of sisterly venom only Sami can serve: “Hello, Belle, isn’t that sweet!” Translation: She’s going to eat her alive later.

Gabi’s Got Flashbacks, And They Aren’t Just About Fashion

Let’s not forget Gabi, who’s doing her own noir flashback outside Gabi Chic like she’s starring in Gone Girl: Salem Edition. She keeps remembering the night EJ was shot, specifically spying on him through the DiMera patio doors as he poured himself a drink like nothing could touch him.

Melinda Trask swings by for a quick gossip session, confirming Kristen’s at the station being grilled about the shooting. Gabi casually brings up how Kristen is trying to pin the shooting on her — because nothing says “innocent” like suggesting someone else had the motive.

She also drops the bomb that she, too, had a reason to plug EJ. You know, because of what he did to Rafe. In Salem, it’s basically a community activity to want EJ gone. Gabi has a moment, a real soap starlet moment, before she’s rudely interrupted.

Xander and Philip Crash the Chic Party

Gabi’s just trying to process her potential criminal involvement when Xander and Philip stroll into her office like they own the place — because, plot twist, they kinda do now. Philip drops the mic: “You mean our office.”

Xander finishes the takedown with, “All of this belongs to us now.” Gabi’s stunned. Whether it’s from guilt, shock, or just being blindsided by the hostile takeover of her fashion empire, it’s unclear. But one thing is clear: Gabi Chic is now under new management, and the vibe is all business and betrayal.

CSI: Salem — Where Bullets Go on Vacation

Back at the station, JJ and Shawn are scrambling because they still don’t have the one thing that can actually link Kristen to EJ’s shooting — the bullet. Turns out, it’s just been chilling at the hospital like it’s waiting for a prescription refill.

Kayla gets paged to help retrieve the rogue piece of evidence, and once it’s finally in police hands, it’s off to ballistics to see if it matches Kristen’s questionable gun. Honestly, this whole police operation is giving more "senior thesis project" than "professional investigation."

Final Moves in the Corporate Chess Match

Meanwhile, Philip returns to the mansion with juicy news: Kristen’s in the hot seat, and it’s all over the media. This is music to Xander’s ears — the more chaos, the easier it is to sneak in and steal the empire.

Shin doesn’t need much convincing now. He says if he acts fast, he can vote in proxy for both EJ and Kristen and install a new CEO — presumably himself or someone who won’t tank the stock into oblivion. The three of them start dialing up board members for a vote like it’s the most cutthroat episode of The Apprentice never aired.

And just like that, while Kristen is locked up and EJ is locked in a coma, the boys start taking over. Because in Salem, all’s fair in love, war, and corporate espionage.
