Days of Our Lives Recap | Xander Learns Liars are Everywhere & EJ Awakens - Monday, April 21, 2025 [SPOILERS]

Monday’s Days of Our Lives full episode recap delivers a spicy dose of betrayal, guilt, and a coma awakening you didn’t see coming so soon. Grab a seat, because Salem's favorite schemers and screamers were busy making a mess of everything.

Susan, Belle & EJ | DOOL, Peacock

Xander Finds Out the Whole Damn Town Lied to Him

Xander had the kind of day that would make anyone want to scream. First off, he found out Philip wasn't the only one playing fast and loose with the truth. Turns out, Alex and Stephanie were also in on the giant lie. Shocking, right? Who knew that loyalty was such a rare commodity in Salem?

DOOL Spoilers for April 21-25

Xander caught on real quick that the big, scandalous affair between Philip and Stephanie was nothing but a cheap cover story. When he confronted them, Stephanie tried to backpedal faster than a politician during an election year, claiming she only knew "a little while ago" and broke up with Philip because of it. Yeah, sure, girl. Xander wasn’t buying that bargain bin excuse for a second.

Alex didn’t help himself either, admitting he also kept quiet because he didn’t want to mess up the Titan/DiMera takeover deal. Xander, seething and practically breathing fire, demanded to know why everyone else deserved honesty but he got left in the dark. But of course, it’s Salem, so the finger-pointing circus began. Alex and Stephanie insisted it’s all Philip’s fault. Naturally.

Before Xander could unleash more of his glorious rage, he got a call from Wei Shin about the corporate takeover drama. Because what’s one more crisis when your entire personal life is in flames?

Sarah, bless her guilt-ridden soul, stayed behind trying to mop up the emotional mess, apologizing profusely and practically begging for forgiveness. Too bad forgiveness is not on the menu today.

Belle Faces Her Very, Very Messy Feelings

Meanwhile, Belle had her own drama parade rolling in when Philip barged into her place uninvited. Apparently, the case she so carefully crafted to get Philip back into Titan was based on pure lies. And Philip decided now was the perfect time to spill that dirty little secret. Why? Because Xander found out and now everyone’s about to start pointing fingers like they’re in a whodunit dinner party.

Belle was, understandably, one step away from losing it. Philip, ever the charmer, apologized but conveniently decided it wasn’t a good idea to tell Belle the full truth about who else knew. Thanks for nothing, Philip.

Belle, caught between her disgust and some lingering loyalty, admitted that she couldn’t exactly throw Philip under the bus without also acknowledging she still had feelings for EJ, a man who — oh yeah — used to be married to her sister. Real classy, Belle. Real classy.

Philip, sensing the hot mess Belle was emotionally swimming in, tried to reassure her that feelings are messy and uncontrollable. Then he had the nerve to ask if he could be facing legal trouble for his fraud. Spoiler alert: he absolutely could. Belle, who also happens to be the District Attorney, was basically like, “Not my circus, not my monkeys — call Justin.”

Kayla & Susan Play Psychic Doctor to Wake EJ

At the hospital, Roman decided to stick his nose where it didn't belong — shocking — popping into Kayla’s office pretending to be there for Johnny. Uh-huh, sure, Roman. Kayla explained that EJ’s medically-induced coma was designed to let his brain heal, but Susan was working her "psychic powers" on him anyway. Because when it comes to medicine, why not throw a little witchcraft into the mix?

Susan was busy putting on a whole show at EJ’s bedside, throwing hands in the air, chanting, and basically doing everything but pulling out a Ouija board. Kayla caught her mid-ritual and suggested maybe, just maybe, they use actual medical science instead. She proposed they start bringing EJ out of his coma — carefully, because one wrong move and hello seizures.

Susan, obviously, was all in on waking her darling boy. No hesitation whatsoever. Kayla started the process, Belle showed up, and the waiting game began. It’s like watching paint dry, but with more heart monitors.

Kate's Family Drama Explosion

Meanwhile, over at the pub, Kate was trying to mind her business when Rex dropped by with the audacity to apologize for thinking she shot EJ. Kate wasn't exactly touched by the sentiment. She basically rolled her eyes so hard you could hear it.

Rex then dragged Roman into it, almost blurting out that he suspected him too. Kate shut that nonsense down faster than a bartender cutting off a drunk at last call, ushering Rex off to catch his flight before he embarrassed himself any further.

Philip slithered into the pub afterward, looking like the human equivalent of a rain-soaked puppy. He let Kate know that Vivian had, once again, torpedoed their lives by spilling everything to Xander. As per usual, Vivian caused chaos and left everyone else holding the bag.

Philip, feeling lower than a floorboard, whined about dragging Kate into yet another disaster. But Kate, ever the ride-or-die mom, insisted she believed he deserved his share of Victor’s empire. Cue the violins.

Xander’s Corporate Nightmare Continues

Over at the Titan/DiMera front, Xander returned from his call with Wei Shin looking like he had just been personally insulted by the universe. Apparently, the takeover might be in jeopardy now, and Xander’s only move is to stay glued to Philip like white on rice. You know he was screaming internally.

Meanwhile, Sarah, hyperventilating from the guilt, tried again to apologize, but Xander was way past the point of accepting any apologies. Salem could experience a total eclipse and he still wouldn’t be ready to forgive.

Stephanie & Alex Suck Face Because Why Not?

After their disastrous evening, Stephanie and Alex retreated to her place. Instead of talking about the complete moral dumpster fire they were part of, they decided the best solution was, obviously, making out. Because nothing says "we ruined someone’s life" like a steamy kiss, right?

EJ Wakes Up Just in Time for Belle’s Confession

Back at the hospital, Belle sat next to a very unconscious EJ, pouring her heart out like she was auditioning for a soap opera — oh, wait. Susan, playing Cupid, encouraged Belle to hold EJ’s hand and confess her feelings.

Belle, after some hemming and hawing, finally admitted that she loves EJ. No sooner did the words leave her lips than EJ’s heart monitor started going wild — and bam, the man opened his eyes. Belle and Susan both looked like they had seen a ghost.

Guess psychic powers really do work when combined with a desperate confession of love. Soap Opera Reviews brings you daily spoilers and recaps so you never miss a thing. We live for the drama!
