Meanwhile, EJ gets a visit from his mom, Susan, and if there’s one thing Susan can do, it’s make a simple hospital visit feel like a three-ring circus. Will she crack and confess something about the night of EJ’s shooting? 

Elsewhere, Xander's got his bloodhound nose on, cornering Stephanie and Alex for answers, and Kate is absolutely not here for Rex’s nonsense. Shocking.

Gabi vents her growing list of frustrations to Javi and Leo — because when life gets messy, sometimes you just need your messy friends.

Maggie’s on a mission to make Xander feel something resembling compassion. Honestly, good luck with that, girl.

JJ’s hoping he can somehow undo all the mess he’s created and win Gabi back, but at this point, it’s like trying to unburn toast.
