General Hospital Full Episode Recap | Laura’s Press Conference Ends with Jordan Quitting - Wednesday, April 16, 2025 [SPOILERS]

On Wednesday’s General Hospital full episode recap, chaos reigns as Ezra hijacks Laura’s press conference, Jordan pulls a dramatic exit, and Sonny gets sucker-punched by some very shady news. Let’s dig into this hot mess, shall we?

Jordan quits | GH, ABC

Amy Wears Out Her Welcome

Over at Liz’s house, the ever-so-helpful (read: suffocating) Amy decides she’s the Florence Nightingale nobody asked for. Liz, queen of patience, is reading peacefully on her couch when Amy breezes in and orders her to take a nap. Liz, having had about 37 too many naps already, is over it. Lucky suggests that Amy might want to actually, oh I don’t know, go to work at the hospital, and Amy reluctantly agrees — but not before declaring Liz her number-one priority.

Desperate times call for desperate texts. Liz hits up Lucas with a “911 Help!” and he swoops in to witness Amy being her usual extra self. Liz vents that Lucky’s about to lose it, Aiden’s never setting foot back home if Amy’s lurking, and if anyone says the word “nap” again, she might scream. Lucas, the angel, steps up and politely shoves Amy out the door, with promises to “check in” — code for "making sure Amy doesn’t sneak back in."

When the coast is finally clear, Liz confesses she orchestrated Lucas’ appearance knowing Amy actually listens to him. Lucky, bless his heart, insists he’s sticking around to take care of her, but Liz calls him out. If he’s just doing penance for old mistakes, she’s not interested. Lucky admits it’s exactly that — and they both know it.

Laura’s Press Conference Becomes a Full-Blown Circus

Meanwhile, Laura’s press conference starts off civil enough — but honey, it does not stay that way. She’s trying to drum up support for the new esplanade, with Curtis, Anna, Jordan, Drew, and messy little Ezra all in attendance. Laura says she’s on board with the original site Congressman Cain (Drew) suggested, but Ezra — who can’t help himself — jumps in to stir the pot.

Ezra decides it’s his big moment and starts loudly questioning Laura about funding and shady land seizures. And because this is General Hospital, he doesn’t stop there. Ezra "accidentally" lets it slip that the private property they want to seize belongs to none other than Port Charles’ favorite mobster, Sonny Corinthos. Gasp! (Not really. Like anyone didn’t know Sonny owns half the waterfront.)

Laura tries to stay cool, reminding everyone that it’s public record and she’s letting the voters decide to avoid any appearance of favoritism. But Ezra’s just getting warmed up. He pushes Jordan — former police commissioner turned deputy mayor — into weighing in. Jordan clearly didn’t have her morning coffee because she dramatically resigns on the spot, citing concerns over Laura’s connection to Sonny. Mic drop, exit stage left.

Jordan resigns | GH

Anna chases after Jordan, begging her to reconsider, but Jordan’s done. Finished. Over it. She’s not going to keep standing next to someone tangled up with Sonny’s drama and pretending everything smells like roses.

Back at the scene of the political crime, Curtis comforts Laura while Drew, who’s busy loving every second of this meltdown, calls the press conference a "wise move" to make it all about democracy. Laura’s not having it. She tells Drew exactly where he can stick his self-righteous attitude and storms off.

Later, Anna and Curtis gossip like two old ladies over tea. Curtis knows Jordan’s serious — when she’s done, she’s done — but Anna’s got her detective hat on, wondering if something more is brewing under the surface.

Drew and Ezra Plot Their Takeover

Meanwhile, in Drew’s office, he and Ezra are basically doing a villainous happy dance. Laura’s career is circling the drain, the ship is sinking, and guess what? Ezra’s already packing his bags for the mayor’s office. Drew, the puppet master, all but hands Ezra the strings and tells him he’ll be the real power once Ezra’s mayor.

General Hospital loves a messy political scandal, and this one’s shaping up to be a masterpiece.

Tracy’s Unwanted Visitor

Across town, Sidwell — slimeball extraordinaire — shows up at the Quartermaine mansion to pitch Tracy on teaming up against Sonny. Tracy isn’t exactly rolling out the welcome mat. Sidwell claims he doesn’t like doing business with companies Sonny touches, and if Tracy really doesn’t want Sonny around either, they should "renegotiate" — translation: he’ll make life difficult unless she plays ball.

Tracy’s no fool. She doesn’t trust Sidwell an inch, but she’s intrigued enough to consider it. After Sidwell leaves, he immediately gets on the phone with Jordan, clearly looking to recruit her next. Classy.

Diane’s Bombshell, Sonny’s Big Problem

Back at Sonny’s penthouse, Diane — Port Charles’ MVP lawyer — arrives with their new legal partner Marco Rios. Oh, but wait, plot twist! Marco is none other than Sidwell’s son. Sonny connects those dots real fast and smells a rat. Diane is floored — she had no idea — and swears she’ll fire Marco immediately.

But Sonny, ever the strategist, tells her to keep him close. It’s better to know where your enemies are than let them operate in the shadows. He tasks Jason with putting the fear of God into Marco — subtle as always.

Sonny shifts gears and brings up the looming vote to seize his precious piers. Diane, not one to sugarcoat, tells him straight up: this isn’t just politics, this is personal. Drew is coming for him, and if the people of Port Charles vote against him, Sonny’s waterfront empire is toast. Diane tells him he can’t fight this with lawyers. He needs to step into the spotlight, show the city his "good guy" side, and remind them all why they’ve tolerated him for decades.

Sonny, naturally, hates the idea. Stepping into the public eye means scrutiny — and Sonny is not here for that. Diane warns him: this isn’t about the piers. It’s about his entire reputation.

Meanwhile, Marco shows up at Diane’s office, thinking he’s got a meeting with her. Nope — he gets Jason instead. Jason, friendly as a rattlesnake, interrogates him about his father’s conveniently timed moves in Port Charles. Marco insists he’s innocent, but Jason isn’t buying it. He warns Marco to watch himself because if Sidwell makes one wrong move, it’s game over.

Lucas walks in mid-interrogation and gets major "uh-oh" vibes but Jason brushes it off. Just a little friendly Q&A between "friends."
