The Young and the Restless Full Episode Recap | Ashley & Alan Return to Genoa City - Tuesday, April 8, 2025 [SPOILERS]

On Tuesday's The Young and the Restless, things are getting messier than a Genoa City Atheletic Club cocktail party gone sideways. Summer’s got jealousy issues, Traci’s fiancé is onto her and might be his own evil twin, and Phyllis is on the verge of flipping every table in town.

Summer’s Green-Eyed Monster Roars

Let’s get one thing straight—Summer Newman is not okay, and frankly, she hasn’t been for a while. She's been pretending to be all cool and collected while Claire sashays around Harrison like the new favorite nanny. But when she finally opens up to Chance (who, bless his heart, is trying to keep the peace), she drops the bomb: yes, she’s jealous, and no, she doesn’t like that Kyle treats Claire like she descended from heaven on a cloud of pure perfection.

Chance is grateful for her honesty, but he’s not signing up for this emotional rollercoaster. He calmly—too calmly—lets her know he’s not feeling this messy vibe. Meanwhile, Summer’s too busy dodging accountability to deal with his reasonable questions. Instead of owning her feelings, she ghosts the convo because it’s Harrison’s bedtime. Classic Summer move.

Nick, Phyllis & Sharon’s Awkward Little Threesome of Suspicion

Over at Sharon’s place, Nick is once again stuck between two exes with too much time and too many theories. Phyllis decides Europe can wait (and manipulates Nick into thinking the same), which means Sharon is left disappointed but not shocked. When Phyllis hints that they should just go full detective and solve this kidnapping mess themselves, Nick—voice of rare reason—mentions Alan Laurent’s name with some side-eye.

Why Alan? Because nothing screams "red flag" like a psychiatrist with a mysterious twin and a past steeped in psychosis. Sharon wants to believe in Alan, but the evidence is piling up faster than a Y&R love triangle, and it’s not looking cute.

Traci’s Engagement Turns Into a Psychological Thriller

Over in the suite of doom, Traci is having second thoughts about her whirlwind engagement to Alan. At first, she’s just a little unsettled, whispering into the universe, “Please let me be wrong about you.” But when Alan actually shows up—out of nowhere, by the way—things get weirder.

Alan, ever the devoted fiancé, insists he had to come back because he couldn’t spend one more night without her. Sounds romantic, right? Except Traci’s got her antenna up, and something about his perfect act is suddenly very off. She tries to pump the brakes on this wedding train, but Alan is not having it. He wants answers—and when he doesn’t get them, the charm starts to crack.

The Curious Case of Alan Laurent

Ashley returns to Genoa City & learns about Traci's situation | Y&R

Jack and Ashley are piecing things together back in the jazz lounge, and let’s just say, the puzzle isn’t looking good for Alan. Jack drops the juicy detail that Traci isn’t even in Paris with her fiancé—because he’s right there in Genoa City. Ashley’s alarm bells go off louder than Phyllis at a wine tasting. She’s starting to wonder if the real Alan didn’t survive and that maybe, just maybe, Martin—the unstable twin—is the one lurking in Traci’s suite.

Jack tries to stay rational, but come on, this is The Young and the Restless. Rational isn’t part of the family legacy.

Everyone’s a Suspect & Traci’s Playing Spy

Traci, bless her heart, isn’t just sitting around waiting to be gaslit into marriage. While Alan starts giving off more creepy-than-cute vibes, she subtly starts protecting herself. Hiding her phone in her robe? Check. Asking the kind of pointed questions that make a gaslighter sweat? Double check.

Alan, for his part, is losing it. He reads people like books, but suddenly Traci’s a novel he can’t crack. Her tone, her body language, her hesitation—he’s catching on, and he does not like it. Meanwhile, Traci tries to keep things calm while dialing into her inner spy thriller heroine.

Phyllis Is Ready to Pop Off

Elsewhere, Phyllis is practically vibrating with frustration. Chance stops by to update the gang—Paris clinic? Hacked. Mysterious lease for a farmhouse in Genoa City? Found. Phyllis immediately grabs her pitchfork, ready to lead the angry mob. She’s convinced Alan (or is it Martin?) is behind it all, and she’s done playing nice.

Sharon, forever the peacemaker, dares to suggest Alan might be getting framed. Cute theory, but Nick isn’t buying it either. He pulls up some light reading—aka, the terrifying psychological profile of Martin Laurent—and now everyone is officially on edge.

Will Traci Make It Out of This Alive?

Jack, still piecing together the web of lies, brings Ashley into the fold. He tells her all about the kidnapping, the trauma, and those pesky alerts Traci saw on Alan’s phone. Suddenly, Ashley’s convinced: they need to talk to Traci now. Like, drop everything and barge into her suite now.

She doesn’t care if it’s midnight or if Alan’s mid-seduction. If he lays one finger on Traci, Ashley is ready to go full Abby-from-the-bunker mode. Jack tries to calm her down, but let’s face it—this family hasn’t known peace since the '90s.

Traci’s Nerves, Alan’s Obsession & a Phone Call That Changes Everything

As the tension peaks, Alan finally lets his mask slip. He starts questioning Traci—accusing her of doubting him, pulling away, holding something back. Traci, with the calm of a woman who’s survived both heartbreak and decades of Genoa City nonsense, asks for time. She wants something real, not a fairy tale built on lies.

But Alan? Oh, he’s got that unstable twin energy now. The man’s pacing, paranoid, and pushing too hard. And just when things can’t get any tenser, Jack picks up his phone and hears Alan confronting Traci—live. Unfiltered. And the kicker? Traci’s been hiding her phone in her robe the whole time. Smart girl.
